Exercises to burn belly fat
When trying to lose weight, the one thing that often comes to the mind is losing stubborn belly fat. Besides maintaining a healthy diet, many focus on achieving that toned tummy but end up doing exercises that go in vain such as hundreds of crunches every day. Instead, there are some great exercises that will help lose fat all over the body that combine cardio, strength, and core work.
Burpees exercise
Burpees are one of the ways to help lose belly fat faster. This exercise works the core, chest, shoulders, triceps and quads. Since burpees involve explosive plyometric movements that promote speed, quickness and power, the exercise will also get the heart pumping.
It starts with one standing with their feet shoulder-width apart. Then one has to lower the body until the palms rest on the floor about shoulder-width apart. Then kick the legs backward into a push up position, perform a push up, and then reverse the movement and perform a jump from the standing position.
Mountain climber exercise
Mountain climber is another exercise that focuses on the core muscle of the body. This moving plank exercise particularly works the core in addition to other body muscles, helping to burn belly fat in the process.
One has to be in a push up position with the hands below shoulder and body forming a straight line from head to heels. Then one has to lift their right foot and knee towards the chest and back to the starting position. This alternates with either foot.
Fast-paced cardio workout
There are few exercises better than short, sharp cardio bouts to lose belly fat. By doing a fast-paced cardio workout over a longer, lower-intensity for the same amount of time, one can burn up to 30 percent more calories.
Start on the treadmill with 15 sets of 20 seconds of sprinting with 40 seconds rest in between, then increase the incline and sprint at full speed for a designated time.
Yoga to lose belly fat
Many underestimate the effects of yoga as it does not burn as many calories as lifting weights or running, but it can help build muscle and improve endurance. This is important in boosting the metabolism of the body.
Some yoga poses such as planking are one of the highest calorie-blasting exercises to lose belly fat and tone the core.
